Frequently Asked Questions

What is Numb AF cream used for?

Numb AF is a local anesthetic specially formulated for numbing the skin during tattoo, piercing, or waxing procedures. Also, it is suitable for procedures such as but not limited to flu vaccination, Botox, microdermabrasion, and mole removal.

How do I apply Numb AF on my skin?

Soften and open the pores on the target area by washing with soap and water. Apply 2-3mm thick layer of Numb AF cream, and cover the area with a cling wrap – ensuring there is no air bubble trapped within. Remove the wrap when the skin feels completely numb, most likely within 1-2 hours after application. Then, wipe excess cream with a damp towel.

How long does it take before the numbness sets in?

The skin will start feeling numb within the first minute, but full numbness will be achieved from 45 minutes upwards. Depending on the complexity of the procedure, we advise you to wait up to 1 hour 30 minutes before removing the cling wrap.

How long will the numbing effect last?

Generally, Numb AF! has been proven to last for at least 3 – 4 hours. Nevertheless, the effect will last up to six hours, if applied correctly.

How does Numb AF work?

When applied on any part of the skin, the cream prevents the pain receptors at nerve endings from sending pain signals to the brain.

What are the active ingredients in Numb AF?

Numb AF contains three medically approved local/topical anesthetics: 5% lidocaine, 1% epinephrine, 5% prilocaine. In combination with other ingredients (water, lecithin, benzyl alcohol, etc.), they form a blend of highly potent numbing cream.

Must I use cling wrap?

While we recommend the use of a cling wrap, you can use any occlusive dressing that prevents water and air penetration.

How often can I use Numb AF?

The cream should be applied once before any procedure: tattooing, waxing, piercing, etc. Do not use for off-label applications such as numbing a minor burn, cut, irritation, insect bite, sunburn, etc. For the avoidance of doubt, do not apply on a broken/exposed skin.

How safe and effective is Numb AF?

The formula has been put through and passed all industry standard quality tests, and each batch undergoes a stability test to guarantee consistency.

Are there any side effects associated with the use of Numb AF?

As is typical with numbing creams, you might experience a little itchiness, puffiness or redness, which will subside in a short while.
